Caragabal is a small village located on the Mid Western Highway between Grenfell and West Wyalong. It is part of the Weddin Shire and is predominantly a rural community. The village is located in the Central West Region of New South Wales within 2.5 hours drive of Orange, Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Dubbo.
Dryland farming of wheat, barley, legumes and canola is an important part of the local economy. The village is serviced by the Royal Hotel (with post office), Primary School and the Country Club which opens on Sundays for sport comps (golf & bowls) and a refreshments.
